Every driver in Kuwait should confirm licence validity before travel or renewal season. The General Department of Traffic links license records to your Civil ID in MOI systems — the same identity used for traffic fine enquiry.
Where to check online
- MOI eServices — sign in with Kuwait Mobile ID and open driving license services to view expiry and status.
- MOI Kuwait app — digital wallet section may show your license details when linked to your Civil ID.
- Sahel app — Ministry of Interior → traffic / license services for consolidated government records.
What to verify
- Expiry date — renew at least two weeks before to avoid gaps.
- License category (private, motorcycle, commercial) matches your vehicle.
- Restrictions such as corrective lenses if noted on the physical card.
- Outstanding fines — unpaid violations may block renewal even if the card still shows valid dates.
Check traffic fines alongside license status on our fine check page before visiting MOI in person.
